When I read this 3 things seem to stand out to me.
The 1st comes in Verses 1-3
In Today's world and in today's churches you can find alot of smooth talkers and alot of people who has alot of wisdom of the Bible or maybe they just think they do but as God points out none of that will mean a thing if they have not love. People will look at them and say "yea right sure you love he Lord, right???" Because they have no love to share with others
The 2nd comes in verse 4-7
It tells us what love is and isn't so that we can learn and understand the kind of Love the Lord wants us to have. Long suffering, not evnyus, not proud, behave itself will, not worried about self, so on and so on..
The 3rd is in verses 8-13
It talks about how before with prophecies and toungs how they were here before the Bible was finished. That is the knowing in part, part.. But those gifts faded away.. went away no longer are around since the Perfect word of God was completed.. What we are left with is Faith, Hope, and Love. God tells us the greatest of these are love. Love is the key to ministering to others and people can tell if that love is real or fake.. If we truly don't show love tot he people we are trying to minister to, why will they listen why would the world want what we have if all we care about is our self. Sure we can have our faith and hope but what good will it do us if people won't listen because in there eyes we are cold and uncaring.
